APPLICATION

NEW!!! We ask all nominated students to apply for winter semester 2017/18 by filling our new online form (it replaces the pdf-version “application form for exchange students”. Together with the online form, you have to upload at least your approved learning agreement. Here is the link to our new online form:
Important notes for filling the online form:
- You will approximately need 20 minutes to complete the online form.
- Prepare the attachments for upload before you start to edit the online form. You can upload common file types like PDF, word, JPG.
- Please name the documents for upload/attachments as the following: Surname_FirstName_TypeDocument (Types of documents: learning agreement, passport, health insurance) e.g. Smith_Tom_passport.pdf
- Once you start to fill in the form, you need to complete and upload it in onesession – you cannot “login” again at a later point of time.
- If a document is not available at the time you fill the online form, please send it afterwards to @email.
- When filling the form, do not use diacritical marks - only use Roman signs!
- After submitting the online form, you will get a confirmation email to your previously stated email address with all the data. Please save this document! (Check your spam if necessary!)
- Don’t forget to apply for accommodation in addition. Just ticking the box in the online form is not enough!
A complete application for admission to OTH Regensburg as an exchange student consists of the following documents:
- Online form “application form for exchange students”
- Learning agreement (approved by home university)

- Copy of student’s passport (Visa); for EU-students a scan of ID card can be used equivalently;

- Proof of health insurance where available (European health card, equivalent document like AT/11,…)
Non-EU students can obtain health insurance coverage upon arrival;

We would like to point out that only complete applications can be considered! So please get in contact with us in case you cannot provide all documents within deadline (e.g. passport)! Otherwise, we cannot consider your application!

ACCOMMODATION
The International Office has a limited contingent of rooms, which we provide for exchange students. We strongly recommend you to apply for a room via the International Office, as finding a room on the private market is not easy in Regensburg. Therefore, you must send your application for accommodation and the acceptance of housingby E-Mail to Mrs. Hannelore Siegl-Ertl within deadline (June 1st 2017). @email
Attention!Due to capacity problems, rooms will be assigned based onthe principle “first come – first serve”. So please sendyour housing application documents as soon as possible toMrs Siegl-Ertl.Probably it is not possible to provide every exchangestudent with a room, unfortunately. In case that theInternational Office of OTH Regensburg cannot provide youwith a room, we point out that it is each student’s ownresponsibility to find an appropriate accommodation forthe time of the exchange period. Rooms are assigned afterapplication deadline and Ms Siegl-Ertl will informstudents around mid of June whether a room can be providedor not. Therefore, it makes no sense to send requests tothe International Office in terms of that matter beforemid of June! In case we cannot provide you with a room andyou still decide to come to OTH Regensburg for an exchangesemester have to take care for finding accommodation by yourself!
Assigned rooms are available from 4th of September 2017 onwards.
In case you receive a denial for accommodation around mid of June, you have to search for a room by yourself on the private market. Starting the search earlier than June usually does make sense at all as student rooms are awarded on a short-term basis.

COURSES
We invite exchange students to choose courses from all faculties.

- Please be aware that courses within the technical fields are mainly lectured in German language! We request a German language level of at least B2 from students who intend to join German lectured classes. This is a prerequisite in order to be able to follow German lectured classes and to do the exams.

- We especially point to the course offer in the faculty of Business Administration, faculty of General Sciences and faculty of Computer Science and Mathematics. (Here the courses are open for Bachelor as well as Master Students).
- For all our English lectures, we expect a language level of at least B2!
- Language courses: We offer German as well as other language courses during the semester at all different levels for our exchange students! Especially during September, we offer intensive German classes in addition. Detailed information is provided at a later point in time and registration can be done upon arrival!
- Some faculties offer final projects to exchange students. If you are interested in doing the final project at OTH Regensburg, you have to get in contact with the faculty in order to find a suitable topic and a supervisor before your arrival. Please contact the departmental coordinator of the faculty in time.
ACCEPTANCE
The application documents will be reviewed after application deadline. Subsequently to the approval of application, we issue and send the Letter of Acceptance to you. (Approximately around end of June).

ARRIVAL
We strongly recommend our incoming students for winter semester 2017/18 to arrive on 4thor 5th of September. Important formalities have to be done and assistance can be provided only in September. In addition, we organize an exciting orientation programme as well as intensive German classes during September – it would be a pity if you miss it.
ACADEMIC CALENDAR/ SEMESTER START
The winter semester at OTH Regensburg will officially start on 1st of October but we need you to join our orientation programme. It includes mandatory appointments to get well started in Regensburg as well as leisure activities with our student tutors and (voluntary) intensive German language courses.
Therefore, the semester for all our exchange students starts on 6th of October 2017. We recommend all students to arrive on 4th and 5th of September.
Please be aware that the International Office is closed at weekends. If you plan to arrive at the weekend, it might be necessary to book a hotel or B&B.)
